Lonomia electra adults

Lonomia electra adults

All three forms of Lonomia electra: On the left and middle are the two color forms of the male, which is dimorphic and has a distinct brownish and yellowish form. On the right is a female, which does not seem to be variable and always has a rather greyish appearance, in constrast with the males. They make excellent leaf mimics. (Photo credit: Bart Coppens)
