biological control insect rearing
Onsite rearing of biological-control organisms is an easy way for pest management programs to lower costs and carbon emissions associated with shipping and handling. At Phipps we efficiently rear aphid parasitoid wasps (Aphidius colemani Viereck and A. ervi Haliday) and mealybug destroyer ladybeetles (Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Mulsant) using simple mesh insect cages.
