A bee hotel, such as this one on the campus of North Carolina State University, provides reeds and wood blocks of various sizes and materials to support a range of native, solitary, cavity-nesting bees. This hotel is one of several installed near gardens and green spaces on the NC State Campus by members of the Rebecca E. Irwin Lab, and each is accompanied by a sign with information on native bees and the important role they play.
