Lauren Diepenbrock night collecting
For Lauren Diepenbrock, Ph.D., entomological work often takes her into the field, such as this trip collecting predators of lepidopteran eggs at night. Diepenbrock is a postdoctoral researcher at North Carolina State University and soon to be an assistant professor at the University of Florida. Her research at NC State has focused on managing the invasive spotted-wing drosophila (Drosophila suzukii), a pest of berries and fruit crops.
