Menestheus mcphersoni

Menestheus mcphersoni

A newly described species of stink bug, Menestheus mcphersoni, is named in honor of entomologist Jay McPherson, Ph.D., whose latest publication in a lenghty career is the book Invasive Stink Bugs and Related Species (Pentatomoidea): Biology, Higher Systematics, Semiochemistry, and Management. Eduardo Faúndez, Ph.D., chose the name after McPherson’s advice led to M. mcphersoni being deemed its own species rather than a subspecies. (Photo credit: Eduardo Faúndez, Ph.D.)
