southern corn rootworm adult
The southern corn rootworm (Diabrotica undecimpunctata howardi, shown in adult form here) is one of many minor, sporadic early-season pests of seedling corn. Assessing the potential risk of such pests is challenging, and a new collection of pest profiles in the Journal of Integrated Pest Management aims to help growers and IPM professionals make more-informed decisions about whether methods such as preventative insecticide seed treatments are warranted.
