Brown marmorated stink bugs (Halyomorpha halys) are damaging to many crops and can cause nuisance infestations of homes. Research on their behavior at Virginia Tech indicates that brown marmorated stink bugs prefer darker surfaces, doorways, and the north and east sides of homes. This research also found that insecticide-treated black netting offers potential as a means of nuisance control. (Photo credit: Chris Bergh, Ph.D.)
