Toxorhynchites rutilus isolation containers
Researchers at the Harris County (Texas) Biological Control Initiative increased production of Toxorhynchites rutilus mosquitoes by rearing them individually. Although labor intensive, the researchers say their method is more efficient because, when reared all together, Tx. rutilus larvae cannibalize one another, sharply reducing output.
