Roger Burks examines amber

Entomologist Roger Burks of the University of California, Riverside, takes a close look at an amber sample to see the details of the insect within. While scanning hundreds of such samples from a collection at Stuttgart State Museum of Natural History in Germany, he identified the first fossil record of a wasp in the subfamily Chrysolampinae, a group of wasps with an amazing and unusual life history.
