Angelita (Angel) Acebes-Doria, Ph.D., serves in the U.S. Army Reserve and is awaiting commission as an Entomology Officer. She joined through Military Accessions Vital to National Interest, a program that allows non-citizens with valuable cultural backgrounds and professional skills (such as entomology) to work for the U.S. military and gain citizenship once they complete basic training.
