Lari-Leuco containers
In lab tests, a newly designed, two-chambered collection container was able to capture both predator beetles of the genus Laricobius and predatory silver flies of the genus Leucopis. The beetles and flies are both potential biological control agents for the forest pest hemlock woolly adelgid (Adelges tsugae), and the container—dubbed the Lari-Leuco container—offers promise for field monitoring of these predator insect populations.
