During her time at Penn State University, Karen Poh, Ph.D., assisted in setting up tables with the PSU Extension Vector-Borne Disease Team during outreach events. The tables typically included informational brochures about ticks and mosquitoes, live (but secure) ticks in vials, and bagels covered in ticks and poppy seeds to show how small nymphal ticks can be.
