Karen Poh, Ph.D., holds a squirrel at a worktable set up in the woods

Karen Poh, Ph.D., prepares to release a squirrel after processing it for ticks, fleas, and other ectoparasites. This project was led by undergraduate researcher Chloe Roberts (not pictured), who taught Karen how to handle and process squirrels. The Veterinary Entomology Laboratory encourages undergraduate students to participate in research, with the opportunity to lead their own projects. All animal activities are conducted under an approved animal welfare protocol.
