Jacqueline Serrano, Ph.D., attempts to collect Alaus zunianus, sometimes known as the zuni click beetle, that she spotted in southeastern Arizona. “As you can tell, I was very excited! This is a fairly large and cool-looking beetle that I had only seen in a collection,” she says.
