The brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) was accidentally imported from Asia to North America in the mid- to late 1990s. Today, this invasive species is present in nearly all of the contiguous United States and has is widely recognized for its ability to feed destructively on a wide variety of different host plants of economic and landscape value and to invade homes and other buildings in large numbers.
