Flood at University of Oklahoma Biological Station
In March 2015, researchers at the University of Oklahoma Biological Station near Lake Texoma on the state’s southern border conducted sampling of insects and invertebrates in an area near the station that was slated for a managed burn that year, intending to resample after the burn for comparison. Instead, in June 2015, a once-in-a-century flood struck the area, reaching the Biological Station itself, but the researchers carried forth with their study, under the new context of studying the invertebrate community post-flood instead of post-fire. During flood Population of insects decrease but insect population again increase and become stable .
