Fraser fir trees

Roughly 85 percent of the Christmas trees grown in the southeastern U.S. are produced in North Carolina. This amounts to over 4 million live trees produced just in North Carolina annually, with Fraser fir (Abies fraseri), shown here, accounting for 98 percent of this total.
