darkling beetle

In this image of a beautiful and reflective darkling beetle, shot at night, the flash was stepped down using flash compensation to capture the iridescence without annoying hotspots obscuring the detail of the beetle’s head, pronotum, and elytra. Photo taken in Sarawak, Borneo. f/6.3, 1/125th, flash. Photo by Jeremy Squire.
