To simulate a natural setting for the Asian subterranean termite (Coptotermes gestroi), researchers at the University of Florida set up a contained system in which a colony of termites can proceed through lengths of coiled tubing to multiple foraging areas, as well as to a bait station and a “house” area containing wood.
